Panic packing is underway!

I had a great plan to be really organised before our departure and have everything packed up and ready to go well in advance of our departure. I was going to spend this week doing jobs in the house, paying bills, sorting out admin that needed to be done before we go etc. Of course, I forgot that I have a 7 month old and that things now do not go to plan!
Thomas is currently playing on his mat, laughing his head off at me, thinking the whole world is hilarious. In fact, I think he's been faking it. Faking an ear infection. Faking bronchiolitis. Faking the need for a blue light taxi to Bristol Children's hospital at 4am on Thursday morning! Thankfully he is absolutely fine now and blissfully unaware of our relief and the mayhem that has since ensued as we try to catch up on several days worth of planning and packing. The little monkey! Thank goodness he is ok and that it wasn't this time next week!
It has got me thinking though about the important things that we need to pack... calpol, calpol and more calpol! Where would we parents be without it?!? It still smells just the same as I remember from my own childhood. We will be taking with us a children's first aid kit, complete with a small digital thermometer, calpol, nappy rash cream, calpol, plasters, more calpol, teething gel and a few other small essentials. Oh and did I mention calpol?!?...
