San Diego Food!

The bonus of travelling with a jet lagged 7 month old so far has been his willingness to be sparked out in his pushchair of an evening and let us enjoy the culinary delights of San Diego. I have to say also that those delights have been particularly mouth watering!

Whilst we ate out a number of times I must mention a few specifics:

1. Fish Tacos at Blue Water seafood market and grill - huge chunks of fish with a huge variety and very reasonable. As you can see from the pictures, the fish was huge, fresh and had a great variety. All food served melted in your mouth. I have never had fish tacos before but I now feel like I have been missing out!

2. Sushi at Ikiru, at Liberty Station, an old naval base, ok, so I'm sticking with the fish theme here but we were by the sea! sushi in Sam Diego knocks the socks off anything I have had in the UK.

3. Breakfasts!!!! The Americans do breakfast way better than the UK. We ate out twice for breakfast, once at Mission and once at Snooze. The variety is large and the Mexican influence is apparent. Great flavours and options.

But of course the best meal we had was steak cooked by our host Mat on the roof terrace... Well, he is an Aussie and it was a very good steak!!!
